The French Revolution will stand forever as both cautionary tale and example of the dangers of democracy devolving into mob rule. When I hear persons of any political persuasion declare their desire for revolution I remind them that revolutions contain the twin evils of Fratricide and war. Using the Reign of Terror as an example I advise further that there are no guarantees of victory, what level of anarchy will ensue, or what level of destruction will remain for the victor to rebuild.
