Isn’t the Chalcolithic Period part of the Neolithic, or does interpretation vary?
Wikipedia defines it as a synonym of the Aeneolithic, which is included as part of the Neolithic: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/aeneolithic
It can be considered an intermediate stage between the neolithic and bronze ages (copper being the metal used before the bronze alloy was discovered), but it’s usually positioned as an early stage of the bronze age on the grounds that they were using metals.
